Welcome to SokoSalama. These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of the SokoSalama website, mobile applications, marketplace, and related services.

By creating an account, accessing our platform, purchasing a product, listing a product, or otherwise using SokoSalama, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use SokoSalama.


1. About SokoSalama

SokoSalama is a digital marketplace that connects buyers and sellers and provides technology designed to facilitate safer online transactions.

SokoSalama may provide services including marketplace listings, communication tools, payment processing, transaction protection mechanisms, delivery-related services, promotions, and other digital services.

SokoSalama is a platform and does not necessarily own, manufacture, stock, or directly sell the products listed by independent sellers.


2. Eligibility

To use SokoSalama, you must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of SokoSalama complies with applicable laws and regulations.

If you are under the age required by applicable law to enter into a legally binding agreement, you may only use SokoSalama with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian where required.


3. User Accounts

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate registration information.

  • Keeping your login credentials confidential.

  • Protecting your password, PIN, OTP, and other security information.

  • All activities performed through your account.

  • Immediately reporting suspected unauthorized access.

SokoSalama will never ask you to disclose your password or OTP through an unofficial communication channel.

You must not:

  • Create an account using false information.

  • Impersonate another person or business.

  • Create multiple accounts for fraudulent purposes.

  • Sell, transfer, or share your account.

  • Use another person's account without authorization.


4. Marketplace Listings

Sellers are responsible for ensuring that all information provided in their listings is accurate, complete, and up to date.

Product listings should accurately describe:

  • Product name.

  • Product condition.

  • Price.

  • Quantity.

  • Images where applicable.

  • Relevant specifications.

  • Availability.

  • Delivery information.

  • Any known defects or limitations.

Sellers must not intentionally provide misleading or fraudulent product information.

SokoSalama reserves the right to remove, restrict, or reject listings that violate these Terms or applicable laws.


5. Buying on SokoSalama

When placing an order, buyers agree to provide accurate information necessary to complete the transaction.

Before confirming an order, buyers should carefully review:

  • Product information.

  • Price.

  • Quantity.

  • Seller information.

  • Delivery details.

  • Applicable fees.

  • Order conditions.

Once an order has been placed, cancellation may be subject to the status of the transaction and the applicable cancellation policy.


6. Selling on SokoSalama

Sellers are responsible for fulfilling orders accurately and within the agreed timeframe.

Sellers must:

  • Provide genuine and accurately described products.

  • Maintain accurate inventory information.

  • Package products appropriately.

  • Dispatch orders within the stated timeframe.

  • Communicate honestly with buyers.

  • Cooperate with legitimate dispute investigations.

  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Sellers must not manipulate reviews, create fraudulent transactions, or attempt to move transactions outside SokoSalama for the purpose of avoiding platform protections or fees.


7. Payments

Payments made through SokoSalama must be completed using the payment methods made available by the platform.

Depending on the transaction, SokoSalama may use a transaction-protection or payment-holding mechanism designed to help protect buyers and sellers until the relevant transaction conditions are satisfied.

Payment processing may involve third-party payment providers.

Users must not provide payment credentials, PINs, OTPs, or other confidential financial information to another user.

Never send payment directly to a seller outside the official SokoSalama payment process when the transaction is being conducted through SokoSalama.


8. Transaction Protection

Where SokoSalama provides a transaction-protection mechanism, funds may be held or processed according to the applicable transaction rules until the relevant release conditions are met.

A buyer may be required to confirm that the product has been received and is consistent with the order before a transaction is completed.

Transaction protection does not guarantee the quality, legality, authenticity, or suitability of every product listed by a seller.

SokoSalama may investigate transactions where fraud, abuse, unauthorized activity, or a dispute is suspected.


9. Delivery

Delivery may be provided by sellers, third-party delivery companies, or other available logistics providers.

Delivery times may vary depending on:

  • Seller location.

  • Buyer location.

  • Product availability.

  • Delivery provider.

  • Weather or other circumstances.

  • Public holidays.

  • Other events outside reasonable control.

The seller is responsible for properly preparing an order for delivery.

Buyers should inspect products upon delivery where reasonably possible and report problems through the appropriate SokoSalama process.


10. Returns and Refunds

Returns and refunds depend on the nature of the product, the seller's stated return policy, the transaction terms, and applicable law.

A buyer may be eligible to request a return or refund where:

  • The wrong product was delivered.

  • The product materially differs from its description.

  • The product is damaged in a manner covered by the applicable policy.

  • The seller failed to fulfill the agreed transaction.

  • Another valid reason exists under the applicable SokoSalama policy or law.

Refund requests must be submitted through the appropriate SokoSalama process within the applicable period.

Some products may be excluded from returns or refunds where permitted by law and clearly disclosed to the buyer.


11. Disputes

If a disagreement occurs between a buyer and seller, users should first attempt to resolve the matter through SokoSalama's available dispute-resolution process.

SokoSalama may request:

  • Order information.

  • Payment information.

  • Product photographs or videos.

  • Delivery information.

  • Communication records.

  • Other information reasonably necessary to investigate the dispute.

SokoSalama may review the available evidence and take action in accordance with its policies and applicable law.

Possible outcomes may include releasing funds, refunding a buyer, requesting a return, restricting an account, or taking another appropriate action.


12. Prohibited Products and Activities

Users must not use SokoSalama to list, sell, purchase, promote, or facilitate illegal or prohibited goods or activities.

Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Fraud or scams.

  • Counterfeit goods.

  • Stolen property.

  • Illegal drugs or controlled substances.

  • Weapons or other prohibited items.

  • Fraudulent financial services.

  • Unauthorized financial transactions.

  • Identity theft.

  • Phishing or credential theft.

  • Malware or malicious software.

  • Exploitation or abuse.

  • Any activity prohibited by applicable law.

SokoSalama may remove prohibited content and take appropriate action against accounts involved in prohibited activities.


13. Fraud and Abuse

Users must not attempt to manipulate or abuse the SokoSalama platform.

Examples include:

  • Fake orders.

  • Fake accounts.

  • Payment manipulation.

  • False refund claims.

  • Review manipulation.

  • Chargeback abuse.

  • False dispute claims.

  • Circumventing platform security.

  • Attempting to bypass applicable marketplace fees.

  • Moving transactions outside the platform to facilitate fraud or avoid platform protections.

Where appropriate, SokoSalama may suspend or terminate accounts involved in suspected fraudulent activity.


14. Communication Between Users

SokoSalama may provide communication tools that allow buyers and sellers to communicate regarding transactions.

Users must communicate respectfully and must not use the platform to:

  • Harass or threaten another person.

  • Send fraudulent messages.

  • Request confidential security information.

  • Distribute malicious links.

  • Promote illegal activities.

  • Conduct activities unrelated to legitimate marketplace use.

Users should keep relevant transaction communication within SokoSalama where possible, particularly when resolving disputes.


15. Reviews and Ratings

Users may be permitted to provide ratings and reviews based on genuine transaction experiences.

Reviews must be honest and must not contain:

  • False claims.

  • Threats.

  • Harassment.

  • Personal confidential information.

  • Malicious or abusive content.

  • Promotional spam.

  • Manipulated or purchased ratings.

SokoSalama may remove reviews that violate these Terms or applicable policies.


16. Intellectual Property

SokoSalama's name, logo, software, website design, interface, graphics, content, trademarks, and other platform materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Users may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit SokoSalama's intellectual property without appropriate authorization.

Sellers retain ownership of content they legitimately own and upload to SokoSalama, subject to the rights necessary for SokoSalama to operate and promote the platform.


17. Privacy and Personal Information

SokoSalama may collect and process information necessary to provide its services, including account, transaction, communication, delivery, and technical information.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with SokoSalama's applicable Privacy Policy and relevant data-protection requirements.

Users should not publicly share sensitive personal information through marketplace listings, reviews, or communications.


18. Third-Party Services

SokoSalama may integrate with third-party services such as payment providers, delivery companies, communication providers, analytics services, and other technology providers.

Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies.

SokoSalama is not responsible for independent third-party services outside its reasonable control.


19. Platform Availability

We aim to keep SokoSalama available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that the platform will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.

Temporary interruptions may occur due to:

  • Maintenance.

  • Technical problems.

  • Network failures.

  • Security incidents.

  • Third-party service interruptions.

  • Events beyond our reasonable control.


20. Limitation of Responsibility

SokoSalama provides a marketplace and technology platform designed to facilitate transactions between users.

Unless expressly stated otherwise or required by applicable law, SokoSalama is not the manufacturer or owner of products sold by independent sellers and does not guarantee that every product will meet a buyer's expectations.

Users are responsible for exercising reasonable care when buying and selling through the platform.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any legal rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.


21. Account Suspension or Termination

SokoSalama may restrict, suspend, or terminate an account where there is reasonable evidence of:

  • Fraud.

  • Abuse.

  • Violation of these Terms.

  • Illegal activity.

  • Security threats.

  • Repeated marketplace violations.

  • Attempts to circumvent platform protections.

Where appropriate, users may be notified of the reason for an account restriction, subject to security, legal, and operational considerations.


22. Changes to These Terms

SokoSalama may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, policies, or applicable requirements.

Updated Terms will be published on the platform with a revised Last Updated date.

Continued use of SokoSalama after an update may constitute acceptance of the revised Terms where permitted by applicable law.


23. Governing Law

These Terms shall be interpreted and applied in accordance with the applicable laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, subject to any mandatory legal rights or requirements that apply to a particular transaction or user.

Any dispute that cannot be resolved through SokoSalama's available dispute-resolution process may be referred to the appropriate legal or judicial authority in accordance with applicable law.
